I was looking forward to sharing a video with you tonight but unfortunately that didn’t happen as I am not feeling well this evening.  I did want to show you all a project I made last night and another today because I just love them!  What are they?  Easel calendars with sticky notes!  They are super fun, easy and make a great small gift idea.  J

Lift Me Up

My sister had a birthday this week and I knew the Lift Me Up stamp set would be PERFECT!!!! I drew inspiration from a fellow Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, Robyn.  She really is amazing!  I absolutely love this stamp set with coordinating dies.  But I think I might ABSOLUTELY love all of Stampin' Up!'s stamp sets because I say that a lot.  LOL.

I was so excited I wasn't rushing to finish my sister's card that I even took the time to write a nice message inside... only to seal the card up before putting her gift card in it.  Oops!  So what was a craft person like me to do?  Make something to put the gift card in of course.  I pulled out the Window Box thinlit dies and made the cutest box from Peekaboo Peach and the FREE Carried Away DSP from the Sale-A-Bration catalog I received for placing a $50.00 (before shipping, we don't have tax in Oregon) order.

She loved the box so much that she wants me to make goodie boxes for my niece's birthday party next month.  It won't be a hot air balloon theme but I have some ideas that should match her vintage kitty theme nicely.

I love being able to share my love of crafting through handmade cards and gifts with those I love.

Sending Love - Insomnia Series

Happy Friday Friends!!!!

I've got another card to share with you that is part of my insomnia series.  :P  I'm super excited about this card because I think it turned out GREAT!  After smearing ink twice and having to start over on part of the card it finally came out the way I had hoped.  LOL.  It's all part of the creative process, right?  I am loving the Sealed with Love stamp set, Love Notes framelits and Sending Love designer series paper stacks.  I am going to be working on some goodie bags for my coworkers soon and I am looking forward to being able to share that with you all as well.

Stampin' Up! Hey Chick Card Episode 4

Giving Back

Good Morning! And happy Thursday!!!

I took a break from being crafty last night as I am working on editing my Paper Pumpkin video to get that posted for you guys.    It was also my girl’s first day back to school in what felt like weeks.  Okay, okay, it was only a week but those days sure were long.    Snow hit the Portland, OR area hard.  The rain has come in and the snow is melting but now there is concerns of flooding, some areas already are.  Snow and rain don’t get me down but it’s a whole lot nicer not trekking through ice or sloppy wet snow.  With my girl going back to school that meant putting on my school brain again and helping her with homework.  Things sure aren’t like what they used to be. LOL.

We did take a break last night to go give back.  We volunteered with the local food bank for the second time to help them repackage foods that will go to pantries in the area.  While this is a requirement for my kiddo for school it really does feel good to give back to the community and help neighbors that are struggling.


Given that MLK Jr. Day was Monday, January 16 this past weekend and week have been to honor him at different non-profit organizations in the area.  The food bank always has a quote posted and last night’s was “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?'”  by Martin Luther King Jr.  Such a great quote, one that really makes you think and reflect.  I know I want to do more and this is just the beginning.

The timing was good though because I am still anxiously awaiting my last Stampin’ Up! order with tons of new goodies I cannot wait to share.  The weather has been crippling and has caused delays of all sorts in the state.  Maybe today will be the lucky day!

Did someone say snow day?

On Tuesday night we were supposed to get 1 to 4 inches of snow. No biggy, right? Oh, no. We ended up getting a foot of snow which no one saw coming. Needless to say it was a snow storm of epic proportions for the Portland, Oregon area. I woke up Wednesday morning with plans to go to my 9 to 5 (okay, okay 8 to 5) as normal but due to the severe weather work was closed.

So what was a girl to do? Dust off my website of course and get ready to blog. Oh, but that’s not all. I even recorded my first card making video. I will post it shortly.

I’m glad to be back to my blog and website. Please take a look around as I’ve made some changes.

I also have new goodies on their way and will share them when they get here. Lots of fun cards and projects to come!
